Ideal candidates typically include individuals who have excess skin, muscle, and/or fat in the upper or lower eyelids, resulting in a tired, aged, or puffy appearance. Another factor is impaired vision caused by droopy or sagging eyelids. Since smoking can impair healing and increase the risk of complications, the best candidates are typically non-smokers or willing to refrain from smoking before and after the surgery.
Most important is that candidates have realistic expectations about the outcomes of the surgery, understand its limitations, are emotionally and psychologically stable, and are willing to follow pre-operative and post-operative instructions provided by Dr. Johnson.
